We’re located in the countryside, halfway between the two small villages of Trappitello and Gaggi within the Commune of Taormina. From highway SS185 (Giardini Naxos), turn right onto Contrada Lenza Falco and continue a short distance toward the old railway bridge. You will see signs to our farm “Archi dell’Alcantara” along the way. Our villa is the pink one just beyond the bridge, after passing Le Arcate Pizzeria. We are a 45 minutes drive from the Catania airport, just 10 km to Taormina and 4 km to the beach!
You will need to reserve a rental car at the Catania airport (before your trip) and drive to our farm.
Your own transportation is essential because, although we are a short distance to many things, including bus and train stations, there are narrow streets, fast drivers and no sidewalks - so walking is not a safe option.
Alternatively, you could take a train from the Catania Airport to Giardini Naxos, (see train instructions below),
rent a scooter or car there, and drive 10 minutes to our farm.
We are on the northeastern portion of the island, just west of Taormina and Giardino Naxos.
Our farm is easy to find by car, but here are some pictures to help
1) From SS185, turn right onto Contrada Lenza Falco`. The turnoff is near this bright yellow house and a sign for Le Arcate Pizzeria on the right. On the left side of the street is a giant construction crane.
4) Park here directly under the bridge (about 20 meters from our gate).

2) Follow this road about 1/4 miles toward the old railway bridge.
5) Walk up to our gate.
Use Google Maps to navigate. If you search for the name of our farm, Archi dell’Alcantara, it will come up and Google Maps will bring you straight to our house.
Important Note: If you have an iphone, when you plug it into your rental car, the navigation system will automatically go to Apple Maps, which does NOT work well in Sicily and will take you to the wrong location for our farm. Scroll through until you find Google Maps in your car’s menu.
3) At fork in road, just past Le Arcate Pizzeria, head straight toward the pink villa.
6) Ring the bell next to the gate and we will come out to greet you and help with your luggage.
By Train - You can take a train from the Catania Airport Fontanarossa to the train station in Giardini Naxos, which is just 5 km from our farm. There are places to rent cars and scooters there.
Train schedules can be found at trenitalia.com or trainline.com (the apps work better than the websites) and they are available in English. Check both sites because one might offer a schedule that suits you better. Tickets can be purchased on the app and you will be given a QR code on your phone, so there’s no need to print anything. Train tickets from the airport include a 6-minute shuttle bus ride from the terminal to the train station. From there, it’s about an hour train ride to the Giardini Naxos/Taormina Train Station.
When you exit the terminal building, walk left and go all the way to the far end. Wait there for the Navetta bus which will take you to the Catania airport train station. Do NOT take the Alibus, as this bus remains within the city of Catania.
